Movies and television shape social attitudes by repeatedly presenting values, norms, and role models to large audiences. I largely agree that they can exert a negative influence on behaviour, particularly when harmful actions are normalised or rewarded, although this influence varies across individuals and social contexts.

The strongest reason concerns the normalisation of violence, aggression, and risky conduct through constant exposure. When characters seek to settle conflict through force or reckless behaviour without realistic consequences, viewers may become desensitized and increasingly tolerant of such actions. For instance, glamorised crime dramas often portray offenders as charismatic or justified, which can blur moral boundaries and subtly influence younger audiences' understanding of acceptable behaviour in real life.

Admittedly, films and television can also educate and inspire by promoting empathy, diversity, and social responsibility. Nevertheless, these positive outcomes depend heavily on critical viewing skills, media literacy, and parental guidance, which are unevenly distributed. In the absence of such safeguards, repeated stereotypes, consumerist messages, and unrealistic lifestyles can distort expectations and reinforce harmful social norms, frequently outweighing occasional educational content.

In conclusion, although screen media are not the sole determinants of behaviour, their pervasive presence grants them substantial power to shape attitudes and expectations. I therefore largely agree that movies and television can have a bad influence, especially when negative patterns are repeatedly presented without context, challenge, or meaningful consequence.
