What Is CELPIP General LS?

CELPIP General LS is a two-skill English test that covers Listening and Speaking only. The 'LS' literally stands for Listening and Speaking. It's designed by Paragon Testing Enterprises (a subsidiary of the University of British Columbia) and accepted by IRCC for Canadian citizenship applications.

Here's the thing: if you're already a permanent resident and you need to prove your English for citizenship, you don't need to take a full four-skill test. You don't need to prove you can write academic essays or read long passages. IRCC only requires Listening and Speaking at CLB 4 for citizenship. That's exactly what CELPIP General LS tests.

The test is fully computer-delivered. You sit at a workstation in a Paragon-approved test centre, wear headphones, listen to audio recordings, and speak into a microphone. The whole thing takes about 1 hour. No handwriting. No paper. No face-to-face examiner.
