Pablo Picasso
Transcript:
Designed by the famous artist Pablo Picasso, this steel sculpture stands 50 feet high and weighs 162 tons. Located in Chicago, it was completed in 1967 after the artist's death. The themes may be modelled from African sculpture that appears in many of Picasso's early works, though no one is certain what the work is supposed to express; Picasso never gave any details. It is one of the most photographed sites in Chicago and one of the most enigmatic and mysterious sculptures in the world. Located outdoors in Daley Plaza, it is especially photogenic when seen against the background of the 31-story Daley (government building).
