REPORT ON SALE OF CARS IN MORTON AREA The primary objective of the report is to outline the objective of the data presented in the graph regarding sales of petrol and diesel engine cars against electric cars between the year 1 and 10. General Overview It is immediately apparent that as year move forward there was in change in trend as sales of diesel and petrol cars fell gradually throughout the period, whereas, elctric car sales surged gradually. Detailed Analysis In year 1, sales of elctric car was almost close to zero, whereas, sales of diesel and petrol engine car was close to 12,000. But, from year 3  we can see a sudden declining trend in sales of diesel and petrol engine cars and a uptrend in sales of electric cars. This might be due to 5,000 pounds payment that was made to anyone who scrapped thier old car and bought a new electric car. For electic car the uptrend stopped in year 6 and petrol and diesel cars the downtrend stopped in year 5. After this they both experienced negligible changes in sale til the end. But, the announcement made by the goverment that after 3 years from now  no new petrol and diesel cars will be sold in the country will make a major impact on the trend as it is predicted sale of diesel and petrol cars will sharply fall to 0 in next three years and electric cars sale will see good growth. Conclusion The data clearly indicated that the goverment policy for promoting electric cars worked and a clear trend change from petrol and diesel engine car to electric car was seen.
