So much less interesting. This is a very boring looking document, which is what U.S. law looks like, and this is a law called the data access or quality law. And this law was sponsored by and heavily lobbied by the tobacco companies, the National Rifle Association. And a wide variety of chemical companies. And I blew up some texts from that law because it sounds so great on the surface. The point was to increase the quality, objectivity, integrity of research that could be cited in any government document, including statistical information. But when you look at that, what this law actually did was it changed the level of statistical significance that was required to call something significant for measures of harm. So think about that. Why would the chemical companies sponser this bill? Because it would make it harder statistically to show that something was harmful, and this is still happening today.
