The debate over whether creativity is innate or learnable remains prominent in education and work. While natural talent can influence creative potential, I strongly believe that creativity can be taught and systematically developed. Through training, exposure, and practice, individuals can enhance their ability to generate original ideas and solve problems effectively.

Firstly, creativity relies on cognitive skills such as observation, association, and critical thinking, which can be improved through education. Structured activities like design projects, brainstorming techniques, and problem-based learning encourage learners to experiment and take intellectual risks. For example, students trained in creative writing often produce more imaginative work over time because they learn specific methods for developing plots, characters, and perspectives, rather than relying solely on inspiration.

Admittedly, some people appear naturally more creative due to personality traits or early experiences. However, this advantage does not mean creativity is fixed. Supportive environments, constructive feedback, and diverse experiences can significantly expand creative capacity in others. In many organisations, employees who receive innovation training frequently outperform naturally talented colleagues who lack guidance, demonstrating that development often outweighs raw ability.

In conclusion, although inborn factors may shape initial creative tendencies, creativity is largely a skill that can be nurtured. Education and deliberate practice play a decisive role in unlocking creative potential, making creativity accessible to a far wider population than birth alone would allow.
