Mobile devices have become embedded in daily life, providing constant connectivity and instant access to information. Despite this apparent convenience, I agree that their extensive use creates more negative effects than benefits. The cumulative damage to attention, wellbeing, and social interaction increasingly outweighs the practical advantages these technologies offer.

The most serious consequences concern concentration, health, and interpersonal behaviour. Continuous screen exposure fragments attention and discourages deep thinking, which weakens learning and reduces productivity. Moreover, excessive use is linked to sleep disruption, eye strain, and patterns of physical inactivity. From a social perspective, mobile devices frequently replace direct communication. Even when people share the same physical space, screen absorption limits meaningful interaction, gradually eroding empathy, conversational skills, and the quality of relationships.

Advocates claim that mobile devices improve efficiency through rapid communication, navigation tools, and access to educational resources. While these benefits exist, they are often undermined by dependency and misuse. Constant notifications encourage compulsive checking, unreliable information spreads rapidly, and personal privacy is compromised by persistent data collection. In workplaces and classrooms, devices intended to enhance performance commonly become distractions that reduce focus and overall output.

In conclusion, although mobile devices provide functional advantages, their negative impact on focus, health, and social cohesion is more substantial. Without strict self-regulation, their dominance ultimately diminishes individual wellbeing and weakens broader societal quality.
