Whether children develop into capable and resilient adults depends heavily on the quality of parenting and family care they receive. In particular, good parenting shapes early behaviour, values, and emotional health in ways that no other institution can fully replace. Moreover, I strongly agree that proper parenting is important for children, even in societies with advanced education and welfare systems.

For instance, parents provide the primary environment in which children learn discipline, manners, and moral judgement through daily nurturing and care. Furthermore, consistent guidance and upbringing at home help children regulate emotions, which strongly influences their behaviour and future. Indeed, children who receive supportive but firm parenting often show better concentration and mental wellbeing, proving the importance of family nurturing.

Admittedly, some argue that institutions or peers can compensate for weak parenting, thereby reducing the importance of a good upbringing. However, this challenge to parenting overlooks how parents interpret experiences for their children, model values, and build strong relationships.
