Advances in digital and scientific technology have transformed the ways people work, learn, and communicate across borders. Although innovation introduces new risks, I largely agree that technology has made the world a better place to live, because its contributions to health, opportunity, and global connection outweigh the accompanying social challenges.

The most compelling benefit is the steady improvement in living standards driven by technological progress. Medical innovation allows earlier diagnosis, more precise treatment, and effective long-term disease management, which together enhance both life expectancy and quality of life. Furthermore, digital tools broaden access to education and employment, enabling individuals in remote regions to acquire skills, deliver services, and participate more fully in the global economy.

Opponents argue that technology intensifies inequality, threatens personal privacy, and weakens authentic human interaction. These concerns are valid, as automation can disrupt labour markets and online platforms may accelerate the spread of misinformation. Nevertheless, such problems largely arise from inadequate regulation and insufficient digital literacy rather than technology itself. With clearer governance frameworks, ethical system design, and responsible use, societies can reduce these risks without abandoning innovation.

In conclusion, despite undeniable drawbacks, technology has significantly improved human wellbeing. By strengthening healthcare systems, expanding access to knowledge, and connecting communities more efficiently, it creates opportunities that were previously unattainable. For these reasons, agreement with the statement is justified, provided that technological development is guided by inclusive and responsible policies.
