The increasing role of computers in young children's lives has reshaped learning and leisure, but constant exposure is not necessarily beneficial. I agree that using a computer every day can produce more negative than positive effects on young children, especially during key stages of physical, social, and cognitive development. Excessive screen time often displaces activities that are essential for healthy growth.

The most significant disadvantage relates to physical health and development. Prolonged computer use promotes sedentary behaviour, which can lead to poor posture, eye strain, and reduced physical fitness. When children spend long periods in front of screens, they lose valuable opportunities for active play, which is crucial for developing motor skills and emotional regulation. For example, replacing outdoor play with digital games can weaken collaboration, stamina, and overall wellbeing at an early age.

A further concern is the impact on social skills and learning behaviour. Daily computer use may reduce face-to-face interaction with family members and peers, limiting the development of language, empathy, and collaboration. Although educational software is available, young children often struggle to use it purposefully without close supervision, resulting in distraction and shorter attention spans. While digital literacy is important, it can be developed later through structured and limited use.

In conclusion, although computers offer some educational value, daily use is more harmful than beneficial for young children. The risks to physical health, social development, and concentration outweigh the advantages, making controlled and occasional use a more suitable approach.
