Governments face competing demands when allocating limited public funds across climate change, education, and public health. In particular, while all three areas are vital, in my opinion, priority should go to public health and education first. On the whole, this allocation delivers immediate protection while building the capacity to manage climate change through healthy institutions.

Moreover, public health deserves primary investment, because a strong healthcare system underpins economic stability and social wellbeing. For instance, funding preventive care, disease monitoring, and hospital services yields rapid returns and protects vulnerable populations. Furthermore, the pandemic showed how an underfunded hospital and weak surveillance amplify human and financial losses for the public. Indeed, targeted health spending protects the workforce, so this priority strengthens the whole economy that a government depends upon.

Consequently, education should receive sustained funding, because it multiplies the impact of every other policy, including climate responses. In addition, quality education and skilled teachers develop the professionals who drive green technology and resilient infrastructure. Admittedly, isolated climate spending without human capital often produces limited outcomes for any government or its budget.

In conclusion, governments should prioritise public health first and education second while embedding climate action through these areas. Ultimately, this balanced allocation of the public budget maximises immediate security and lets each government pursue environmental goals that are achievable.
