Extreme adventure breaks are becoming increasingly popular as more and more people seek fear during their time away from work. No longer are people happy to relax on a hot beach for seven days while people serve them cold drinks; they want to experience the fear and excitement that activities such as mountain biking and skydiving can bring.

These kinds of holidays are growing faster than any other type in the travel industry and seem to offer more than just excitement. Holidaymakers say they are able to completely forget about work and focus on something completely different. They also say they meet more local people and learn more about the local environment.

Like two sides of a coin, extreme sports come with their own set of advantages and disadvantages. Many a times the disadvantages outnumber the advantages. They are not compulsory. It is voluntary to be a part of them. But one needs to understand that these extreme sports are mostly meant as a break from life and not something to be included in your regular life. If they are to be included in a regular life, then no person can go far without proper training and equipment.
