Molten rock
A number of plants were hunted by using amazing methods. One of these is the Venus Fly trap, which catches and feeds on insets visiting. The plant attracts the eye with the charming red Color of its leaves. The fly is charmed by the irresistible sweet scent seated by the glands surrounding the leaves and lands on the plant without much hesitation. While it is moving towards it inevitably touches the seemingly harmless hairs on the surface of the plant Upon feeling the fly's touch, the plant suddenly snaps its leaves shut. Locked up between the leaves, the fly causes the leaves to clamp the leaves even tighter, touching the hairs again and again as it flutters. The plant then starts to secrete a flesh dissolving liquid. In a short time it turns its prey into a jelly-like substance and consumes the fly by digesting it.
Some mountains are built up as volcanoes. Molten rock is pushed up through a weak point in the earth's crust and cools on the surface as lava. Many islands in the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans are the tops of extinct underwater volcanoes. Other mountains are built up when a section of the earth's crust folds. This means that underground forces push areas of land together and cause mountains to rise. Such mountains are called fold mountains. Another way is when great blocks of the earth's surfaces move. Some blocks are lifted, others are sunk. These movements cause flat-topped mountains and flat-bottomed valleys.
