The City Council is thrilled to announce the launch of the "Green in the City" initiative, a comprehensive plan to increase and improve urban green spaces across our city. This initiative is a response to the growing need for accessible natural areas in our urban environment, promoting both environmental sustainability and community well-being.

Green in the City will see the development of new parks, community gardens, and green rooftops over the next five years. In addition, existing parks will be upgraded with more facilities, such as walking trails, outdoor fitness equipment, and children's play areas, to encourage active and healthy lifestyles among our residents.

The initiative also includes a volunteer programme, inviting community members to participate in the planting and maintenance of these green spaces. This is a fantastic opportunity for residents to get involved in creating a greener, more vibrant city for all.
