Good morning, everyone. As you know, exam season is upon us and so I wanted to go over some of the most common issues students face during this time. Follow these tips, and you'll have a much better chance of success. First of all, don't procrastinate. Create a realistic study schedule and plan to study in manageable chunks with plenty of breaks. Be sure to switch off your phone because it's all too easy to get distracted, and your productivity will suffer if you're disturbed by notifications and alerts. Similarly, think about how you use the Internet. You're going to need it a lot for your research and revision but, again, it's easy to get side¬tracked. As you work, jot down topics you'd like to look up—and only open your browser when there are at least five items on your list. I think you'll be surprised at how little is actually still relevant by the time you reach that number. Finally, stay motivated. Don't get bogged down in the drudgery of exam preparation and forget about why you're studying in the first place. Put a picture above your desk that represents your goal—whether it's of your family, who you want to make proud, a visual representation of what you're going to do with your research grant, or the yacht you're going to buy with all that Nobel prize money.
