It was an exciting concept, blending competition with environmentalism. Initially, I was captivated, eagerly joining challenges like 'Zero Waste Week' and 'Vegan Voyage'. The app did a great job at providing daily tips and encouraging small, manageable changes. However, over time, the novelty wore off. Many challenges started to feel repetitive, and the social features, meant to inspire, ended up feeling competitive in less healthy ways. Additionally, technical glitches often prevented challenge completions from registering, leading to frustration. While Eco Challenge shines a spotlight on important issues and can be a fun way to kickstart your sustainability journey, its current execution lacks the depth and reliability needed to sustain long-term engagement. For those serious about making lasting lifestyle changes, direct community involvement might be more impactful.
