On today’s show, we’re exploring GrocerNet, a new player in the online grocery delivery scene that promised to redefine convenience with its AI-driven shopping assistant and ultra-fast delivery. At launch, GrocerNet seemed to tick all the boxes for the modern shopper: a wide selection of products, competitive pricing, and the allure of receiving your groceries within an hour of placing an order. My experience with GrocerNet, however, painted a different picture. While the idea of an AI shopping assistant sounded innovative, it often resulted in frustrating mistakes in my order, suggesting items that didn't match my dietary preferences or past purchases. The much-touted ultra-fast delivery was hit or miss, with orders sometimes arriving late or, in a couple of instances, not at all. Customer service, when dealing with these issues, was less than helpful, offering scripted apologies but little in the way of actual solutions or compensation. The final straw was noticing a significant markup on many items compared to local supermarket prices, diminishing the value for money GrocerNet initially seemed to offer. In light of these issues, despite the convenience online grocery shopping provides, GrocerNet’s execution of this concept leaves much to be desired. For those looking for a reliable and cost-effective grocery delivery service, it may be wise to stick with more established providers until GrocerNet can iron out its operational kinks. At this point, I find myself unable to recommend GrocerNet as a go-to grocery delivery option.
