Practice Listening: Summarize Spoken Text ID: #38772 Medium Spain
Instructions
We arrived in Spain for the first time a few weeks ago and I decided to buy a car because we had sold the one we had in England before leaving. Yesterday the sales office rang us to say the car was ready, I had tried the car a few days earlier. And I felt quite comfortable driving it, but as I was not yet used to driving in this city, my wife did not want me to collect it on my own so we went together to fetch it. The formalities took ages. But in the end we paid for the car and signed the papers. They told us that there was enough petrol to take us to a garage, where we could fill up. The nearest garage to the office was about 100 yards away and we got there safely. But when I turned into the main road I suddenly saw a lot of cars racing towards me. I got out of their way as fast as I could by backing into the garage once more and the man behind me shouted at me. 'It's such a problem to remember to drive on the right, isn't it?' My wife said, 'you'd be sorry if you had an accident on the first day, wouldn't you? While we were talking, the man behind got out of his car and said in good English, 'Would you mind telling me when you are thinking of leaving? Or are you going to sit in your car all day?'
