Practice Listening: Summarize Spoken Text
ID: #30108
Medium
Dreams 4
Transcript:
Do blind people have visual dreams? Well the answer to that depends upon when they become blind. I spoke to one man who became blind later on in life, in his early twenties, and he said that yes, he still had visual dreams. However, everyone in his dreams appeared as they did thirty years ago when he went blind. On the other hand, if someone has never had vision or never had hearing, they would not have a visual or an auditory component to their dreams.
Again, our dreams are made up of the content of our lives. You don't have dreams about FM radio waves or X-rays, because you have no way of experiencing those things. People who are blind or deaf, who have never experienced those sensations would not have that content in their dreams.
