B: Oh yeah, I remember that now—was it something to do with bat's blood?
A: Yes, it was. They used to put drops of bat's blood into their eyes or inject it into their ears. Disgusting, but I suppose they had their reasons for doing it.
B: Well yes—After all bats can fly around in the dark without bumping into anything, so they must have thought they had good eyesight.
