Orb Spider
Transcript:
This spider is called an orb web spider. It builds the most complicated and beautiful of all webs. The spider first makes a single silk thread called a bridge line, from which the web hangs. It then makes foundation lines. These lines limit the area in which the spider spins the round insect trap. The main part of the web. After setting the foundation lines, the spiders spins threads from the web's hub or centre. These threads look like the spokes of a wheel. Next, the spider makes a line of dry silk that coils out from the hub and holds the spokes in place. It then spins a coiling line of sticky silk, which becomes the insect trap. Finally, it removes the coiled dry line that was holding the spokes. The Spider uses its web to catch food.
