Acting 4
Transcript:
While Uta Hagen was working as an actor she was invited by Herbert Berghof to teach at his acting school. Her response though was that she didn't know how to teach. She had no experience of teaching. However, Berghof was convincing in his rejoinder. He told her that she knew very well how to act and it all she would have to do is share with students what she had learned during her illustrious career. Subsequently she developed her own teaching techniques. She would give each actor two or three points to focus on, these points will depend on the actor’s individual strengths and weaknesses. Rather than giving them lots and lots of information that might overwhelm them, she preferred to deal with each actor’s individual problems.
