Practice Listening: Select Missing Word ID: #39950 Short Camera film
Instructions
A camera is basically a box with a lens at one end and film at the other. The inside of a camera is completely dark. When you press the button to take a picture, a shutter opens for a fraction of a second to let light rays from a scene in through the lens. While the shutter is open, the lens gathers light rays from the scene and focuses them onto the film. Camera film has a light-sensitive chemical coating that reacts differently to different colours and to varying intensities of light. When the light strikes the film, it causes chemical changes in the film's coating. These changes create a latent image which is invisible to the naked eye. To make the latent image visible, the film is placed in special chemical solutions. The image is then transferred from the film to a sheet of special paper which creates a (photograph).
