Transcript:
Language and culture are closely related and so when a language such as English is widely spoken in other countries it may affect local cultures. People worry that, aspects of their own culture will disappear and be replaced by aspects of English culture. But there's one second language that will never cause this problem and that's Esperanto. Esperanto is an international language created in eighteen eighty seven by a doctor Zamin Hoff. His his goal was to make a new language that wasn't affected by a culture or politics. One that would help people around the world to to communicate and understand each other better. In fact Esperanto means one who hopes. While hmmm it certainly not as popular as English and it's difficult to say exactly how many people speak it it's estimated that at least ten thousand people speak it fluently, in more than a hundred countries and a around a million people have studied it at some time during their lives.
