Long Carbon dioxide
Blood returns to the heart via small vessels called venules, which lead in turn into larger tubes called vein. Carbon dioxide moves out of the body cells and into the blood. It travels in the blood until it reaches the lungs. There carbon dioxide passes from the blood to the alveoli and is expelled from the lungs.
