The usage of chemical drugs in the field of medicine has been increasing at a great pace as time is passing by. As the doctors and scientists in the field of medicine consider this to be a positive sign, few people also believe that the contrary of it is true. According to Dr. B.M.Hegde, the chemical drugs are to be prescribed as less as possible. Because our human body in its natural form doesn’t accept any foreign chemical bodies and tries to suppress such effects. The proof of this theory is the existence of first-pass effect. According to the first-pass effect, the human liver tries to decrease the concentration of any given chemical drug in our human body before it starts spreading into our circulatory system. The liver is believed to be the chemical laboratory of our body and any chemical drug that is ingested into the body will make way to the liver first. This whole process is termed as the first-pass effect. According to Dr. Hegde, the fact that the human body itself is trying to resist a foreign chemical entity is the reason why we should prescribe as few chemical drugs as possible. However, with the advent of many large scale pharmaceutical companies and their rapid sales tactics, they are managing to force the doctors into prescribing more and more chemical drugs. For better or for worse, we still need to consume chemical drugs to treat diseases and illnesses. However, things, when done under moderation, will never backfire. When the consumption and usage of chemical drugs cross leaps and bounds, our body will respond by building resistance to drugs altogether bringing in a problem of a new kind.
