Hi, I'd like to thank you for inviting me here today. As you may know, my organization is tasked with identifying and attempting to overcome some of the biggest complaints employees have when working in an office environment. At the top of everyone's list of complaints, you might not be surprised to learn, is temperature. Yes, it's the age-old struggle of the room where you work being either too hot or too cold; the air-conditioning is too high or the heating is too low. This is a difficult problem to overcome because everyone has his or her own comfort zone. What's too warm for one person, is just right for another. In offices where the systems controlling ambient temperature are functioning normally and can be easily controlled, we have found that seating people in groups within the office space according to their temperature preference is one effective way of solving this problem. Where space restrictions limit this kind of flexibility, we recommend alternating days of cool and warm temperatures. For example, Mondays might be a cool day, and those who tend to feel cold should prepare for it by wearing warmer clothes.
