Patricia, you are now part of the water that has come through. You are a voice. You have a voice. You have a platform, you have success if you know if, however, you want to define that. Has that presented its own difficulties? Are there challenges for you in representing and being a voice? For people who may look at you, you know it's alright for you. You don't represent me. You're not. You know. How do you then you know, manage that.
Yeah, I think it becomes complicated, right? Because for myself, Alicia and Opal, we were creating a platform for black people. We didn't think that was then going to make us celebrities make us so visible. That wasn't the intention. And part of the challenge. I think over the last four years is trying to both remind ourselves that you don't build the individual, you build the team that we are, I ask myself every single day is the work that I'm doing changing the material conditions for black people. Because it could be very seductive to become a voice, to be the visible person and think, yeah, things are changing. Everybody's watching me talking to me, but that doesn't mean that it translates to what's happening on the ground in our communities. For my mother, for my brother, for my siblings, and so part of our work isn't just about being visible. It's why I call myself an organiser.
