The issue of whether genius is born or made never fails to spark controversy and draw widespread public attention. While some people argue that a genius is born with exceptional natural abilities, others hold the stance that becoming a true expert is mainly the result of years of serious study and practice, which I am an advocate of. Admittedly, the opposing viewpoint is reasonable to some extent. From their stance, it is often argued that innate intelligence and talent enable certain individuals to achieve extraordinary success with relatively little effort. For instance, child prodigies such as Mozart and Magnus Carlsen displayed remarkable abilities at a very young age, suggesting that natural gifts can play a significant role in exceptional achievement. Nevertheless, the counterarguments tend to overlook the significant benefits of consistent effort and deliberate practice. I strongly argue that long-term dedication to learning and skill development is more compelling. The foremost reason for my conviction is that regular practice allows individuals to strengthen their knowledge, refine their abilities, and gradually reach a high level of expertise. Equally important is the fact that perseverance builds discipline, resilience, and problem-solving skills, enabling people to overcome setbacks and continuously improve. These factors collectively affirm that my perspective is not only viable but also necessary. In conclusion, having considered the arguments on both sides, it is evident that the case for continuous learning and disciplined practice is more persuasive. Therefore, I remain convinced that genuine expertise is primarily achieved through years of hard work rather than being determined solely by inborn talent.
