REPORT ON ASSIGNMENT SUBMISSION METHODS USED BY STUDENT The primary reason of the report is to outline the objective of data presented in the chart regarding different methods used by students to submit assignments in the university between year 2010 and 2024. General Overview Different methods used by students were Paper, Email and lerning management systems (LMS). Overall, we can see changes in the proportion every fifth year due to policy adoption during the period. In start paper had the highest proportion but by the end it became the least used one, whereas, LMS was the least opted one in start and ended with the highest proportion. Detailed Analysis In 2010, 70% of the submission were done using paper and only 25% used email. But in 2013, Email submission policy was adopted across campus, consequently, in 2015 email submission surged over by 30% and paper submission fell sharply to just 30%. Then in 2017, LMS was made mandatory which lead to a growth in use of LMS for submission and in 2020, paper submission were minimised due to covid, so, these both things together changed the proportion alot. In 2020, LMS held 60% of the total submission, paper submission fell to only 10% and the rest of the submission were done using emails. In 2022, a mobile app version of LMS was introducted which further pushed the use of LMS for submission making it resposible for 80% of the submission in 2024. In future, paper submission will be negligible as universties are moving towards online submission and LMS will take on majority of the submissions as faculty will prefer a organised system for submission rather than emails, So, email submissions will hit a drop in future. Conclusion The data clearly indicates a shift from paper submissions to paperless methods like emails and LMS and as the technology evolved it shifted completely to LMS.

In the past fourteen years, we have seen a great change in how students submit their assignments at our university. Although in the beginning, 2010, it was mainly done by paper, we can have observed that paper submission is about to disappear. Not only we have seen paper submission being replaced by digital methods over the past decade, but we have also come to a place where the Learning Management System is dominating. In the first few years, the percentage of paper submissions was the highest at 70%, with only 25% email and 5% LMS. After the adoption of email submission policy in 2013, either through email or LMS, the number of paper submissions has decreased significantely. When the LMS was made mandatory in 2017, digital submissions increased dramaticaly. Due to COVID in 2020, paper submissions was minimised and dropped to only 10%. According to the chart, by 2024, LMS submissions reached 80% while email dropped to 15% and paper to just 5%. Should the technology continue developing, by 2030, I predict that LMS will become the only method of submission, and new features like AI- assisted uploading might emerge.
