The two maps shows the changes that happened in the City Library between 2004 and 2014. Overall, the library became more modern and provide more facilities for visitors over the ten-year period. In 2004, the library had sections for fiction, non-fiction, children’s books and magazines along the top side under the general collection area. In the centre, there was a reception desk and a reference room. On the bottom side, there were a gift store, an art gallery and an academic journals section. The main entrance was located on the left side of the building. By 2014, many parts of the library were changed. The academic journals area was replaced by an outdoor performance area and a café. The gift store and art gallery were combined together into one section. A new computer and media room was added on the left bottom side. In addition, the reference room was changed into a reference desk and academic lounge. The magazines section was also replaced with movies and computer games. However, the fiction, non-fiction and children’s sections remained in the same place.
