Good morning, class! Today, we're going to explore the wonders of our solar system. At the centre of our solar system lies the Sun, a massive star that provides light and warmth to all the planets. Surrounding the Sun, we have eight planets, each with its own unique characteristics. For example, Earth is the only planet known to sustain life, thanks to its liquid water and suitable atmosphere. Moving outwards, we have Mars, known as the 'Red Planet' due to its dusty, red surface. One interesting fact is that Venus, not Mercury, is the hottest planet in our solar system, despite Mercury being closer to the Sun. This is due to Venus's thick atmosphere, which traps heat. Our journey through the solar system reveals the incredible diversity and complexity of the celestial bodies that orbit our star.
