On their own initiative, they implemented in the school in the primary schools, a bilingual programs academic and friends. And other initiatives, since the late 1980s, each bring an autumn during the season of migratory birds, they have established what they call cultural weeks, and where the schools and offices are closed over a period of two weeks. It is a time when the families moved them to their family territories, while others move to town to visit relatives and do shopping. Indigenous peoples like the academic are very much aware that it is not only their knowledge system that are jeopardized through compulsory schooling and the processes of modernization and individuation, but also the processes of intelligent irrational transmission and the relational and experiential dimensions of such transmission.
