I use the term truth decay because this is a term that was actually coined by the Rand Corporation when they were trying to decribe how opinion is taking much more presidence over facts in political decisions and public debates about politics; and truth decay has a few characteristics. One is that there's disagreement about facts. Another is that anatels are used a lot more than facts, and the third one is that experts are distrusted. So, when I saw that I thought this is actually a really great frame to think about evidence and the debates around evidence and what's happening with evidence and recommendations related to health.
