And these are working animals. They're trained to do tasks for someone with a disability. They aren't considered pets. And they have a legal right to enter public places such as hospitals and restaurants and libraries and airports and other public places. In the US, however, service dogs are limited in terms of species to dogs and miniature horses, but you don't see that limitation in other countries, which is why it's important to look at that particular country's definitions.
