Ever  since  the  industrial  revolution,  improvements  in    technology,  changes  in  education  and  womens  roles  in  and  out  of  the  home,  and  a  wide    of  other  causes  have  meant  that  populations  around  the  world  are  getting  older.  United  Nations  data  suggests  that  it  now  affects  rich  and  poor  countries  alike.  All  around  the  world  populations  are  changing.  But  why  is  this  issue  of  ageing  populations  ?  Theres  one  main  reason:  the  majority  of  pension  systems  were  not  designed  for  a  large,  older,  non-working  population.  Many  countries  are  starting  to  ask  if    need  to  keep  working  longer  before  retirement.  But  the  effects  of  ageing  populations  are  as    as  countries  themselves.  Although  Scandinavia  and  France  are  located  in  Europe,  they  currently  have  more  youthful  populations,  while  some  Asian  countries  are  already  getting  older.  The  USA  has  avoided  the  problem  through  high  immigration  rates,  with  young  people  coming  into  the  country.
