Practice Reading: Fill in The Blanks (Drag & Drop) ID: #30466 Aesop's Fables
Instructions
* Drag the correct answer into all target fields
Today  we    Aesop's  fables  with  childhood,  and  the  Victorians  are  largely    for  that.  There  were  at  least  seven  separate    or  retellings  in  the  19th  century,  all  targeted  at  children.  Rewritten  as  parables,  they  were  seen  as  an  effective  way  of  communicating  Victorian  morality.  Yet,  in  antiquity,  Aesop  wasn't  read  by  children:    the  talking  animals  and  the  sometimes  childlike  atmosphere  of  the  tales,  the  setting  was  perceived  at  the  time  as  being  political.
