Although its principal use today remains electrical - due to its excellent conductive properties - its many functions don’t stop there, and we have long been with it, even as far back as prehistoric times. In all all likelihood, it was the first metal to be employed for useful articles: cooking utensils and coins made of copper are often on archaeological sites, and continue to be produced to this day.
