Practice Reading: Fill in the Blanks (Dropdown) ID: #44142 Global Population
Instructions
As    resources    and    arable    land    become    and    the    global    population    increases,    animal    flesh    is    becoming    an    increasingly    unsustainable    source    of    food.    In    fact,    one    reason    many    vegetarians    give    for    meat    is    that    it    is    a    drain    on    natural    resources.    Alternatives    to    meat    products    have    ranged    from    soya-based    sausages,    to    laboratory-grown    'meat',    but    many    critics    are    saying    that    trying    to    the    taste    and    texture    of    meat    products    is    the    wrong    way    to    look    at    the    problem.    Instead,    more    efficient    of    obtaining    the    protein    necessary    for    a    healthy    diet    should    be    sought.    Unfortunately    for    vegetarians,    one    alternative    already    in    production    uses    insects    as    the    main    ingredient.    These    products    will    not    resemble    traditional    meat,    but    they    more    sustainable    and    nutritious    than    animal-based    food    products.
