Practice Reading: Fill in the Blanks (Dropdown) ID: #40855 Health benefits 2
Instructions
More  people  are  turning  to  a  plant-based  diet,  not  just  for  health  benefits,  but  also  to  reduce  their  environmental  footprint.  Adopting  this  diet  can  lead  to  a  significant  decrease  in  greenhouse  gas  emissions,  as  plant-based  foods  generally  require  less    resources  than  meat  production.  Additionally,  this  diet  can  contribute  to    water  conservation,  as  it  takes  considerably  more  water  to  produce  a  kilogram  of  beef  compared  to  the  same  amount  of  plant-based  food.
Moreover,  from  a  health  perspective,  a  plant-based  diet  is  rich  in  nutrients  and  can  help  in    the  risk  of  developing  chronic  diseases  such  as  heart  disease,  diabetes,  and  certain  cancers.  It's  not  about  eliminating  meat  entirely  but  rather    the  proportion  of  plant-based  foods  in  your  diet.  For  those  concerned  about  protein,  there  are  plenty  of  plant-based  sources  that  are  excellent  alternatives  to  meat.
