Practice Reading: Fill in the Blanks (Dropdown) ID: #36556 Behavioural economics
Instructions
I  am  interested  in  behavioural  economics.  Ive  often  felt  as  if  declaring  such  an  interest  is  virtually    to  committing  some  atrocious  thought  crime  or  act  of  betrayal  against  rational  economic  theory.    is  the  current  status  of  behavioural  economics  within  many  academic  circles,  that  I  sometimes  find  myself  questioning  why  it  ever  attracted  so  much  attention  in  the  first  place.
Yet  for  all  the  criticism    at  it  for  its  overreliance  on  the  use  of  punishment  and  rewards,  behavioural  economics  does  in  fact  offer  some  useful  insights  into  how  behaviour  can  be  channelled  towards  desirable  actions  under  the  right  circumstances.
After  all,  those  in  favour  of  large-scale  government  intervention  may  disagree,  but  research  has  shown  that  gentle    like  making  fresh  fruit  readily  available  in  workplaces  can  make  all  the  difference  when  it  comes  to  improving  peoples  eating  habits.
