Whether you like it or not, there is a commonality that everyone who is studying will have to with at some point. Available in many formats, including quizzes, exams, demonstrations, reports and presentations, assessments are integral to learning. To for an assessment, there are three key things you must always think about. First, you must be clear on the of the assessment. An online multiple-choice quiz requires a very different than a long, formal written exam in a classroom. Second, you must understand the criteria of the assessment. Is this an assessment of your knowledge of facts or your ability to theories to everyday problems and situations? Thirdly, wherever possible, you should review examples of previous assessments. These will help you to become familiar with the kinds of questions and the language of instructions, and to understand what will be of you when you sit the assessment.
