The pie chart illustrates the information about the electricity generated between Germany and France in 2009. Data is measured in percentage. Overall, according to the figure, it is evident that conventional thermal was the most significant contributor to electricity generation in Germany and nuclear contributed the most in France towards generating electricity. At first glance, it is crystal clear that conventional thermal accounted for 59.6 per cent to the 560 billion kWh produced in Germany. While France is accounted for 10.3 per cent of 510 billion kWh generated. Moving to the renewables they accounted similar proportions for both countries, ranging from around 14% and 17% of the total electricity generated. Going forward, it is intresting that geothermal did not contributed towards the generation of electricity in both countries. The fraction of hydroelectric was the most among all renewables for France (80.5%). The figure was about four times more than for Germany.
