CELPIP Practice Reading: Reading Correspondence ID: #61075 Easy Feedback on a Campus Map Project

Read the following message.

Dear Luca,

I have reviewed your group's plan for the interactive campus map. The idea is promising, but the work is currently divided too narrowly: one person is doing all the coding while everyone else is preparing text. Since the project is meant to develop a range of skills, each student needs to try both the technical and content tasks.

Please revise the schedule so that you work in pairs and exchange roles halfway through the week. The experienced coder can explain the process to a partner, but should not complete that partner's work. I will assess each person's short reflection as well as the group's final product.

For Friday's demonstration, a working map of two buildings is enough. You do not need to include the whole campus. A small section that users can navigate successfully will show more than a large unfinished map. Please test the route between the library and the sports centre with someone outside your group.

The demonstration begins at 10:30 in Lab 2. Bring a local copy of your project because we cannot rely on the network. You may use the lab computers during Thursday's supervised session to check that the files open correctly.

Send me the revised allocation of tasks by Wednesday evening. If anyone is unsure how to begin a new role, mention it so we can arrange help before the final session.

Regards,
Professor Chen
